My art gallery
Although I've never had any formal training in illustration, I've always been an admirer of artists like James Gurney who have a talent not only for light and color, but for bringing worlds to life in art. I have been drawing fantasy worlds, creatures, and characters for as long as I can remember, but it's only recently that I made the jump to digital art tools, which helped me to actually practice consistently despite my terminally online life.
I haven't really made the jump back into landscapes, worlds, and environments yet, but here's some various fantasy character portraits I was proud of to tide you over until I come back to flesh out this gallery some more.
It's scary how fast this thing works! "Accursant" here is some kind of monster collector game character, and might either be the spirit of a departed office worker, or a ghost-type 'mon from elsewhere who just possessed the chair and decided to act like one.
This funny feline is Hirit. She's a member of a species called the Frithitt, which I spent some time developing on WorldAnvil a while back. Hirit is a druid and specializes in herbal remedies.
What's this? A Frithitt Power Ranger? Black Star, Sunranger 2, is a part of an as-yet undeveloped Rangers/Sentai fan project called Power Rangers Sunstone (or Isei Sentai Sunranger 異星戦隊サンレーンジャー) about six extraordinary kitties taking down an evil empire.
This is Capsica, the main character of an upcoming fan fiction I'm authoring titled "Dragon Ball: Finding Future". The setting is kind of like a ground-up alternate universe of the original Dragon Ball setting. Capsica herself is a feisty fighter with a huge chip on her shoulder.
Here's another character from "DB:FF", Hupi. She probably won't be appearing in that story for a very long time.
Can you tell I obsessed over the second Spider-Verse movie? Based loosely on the idea of "what if the evil Peter from the Ultimate TV show was good and also trans", Wolf-Spider is from the cyberpunk dystopia of the year 2101 in their timeline. They can't spin webs, but they do excel in scavenging megacorp tech with which to subdue villains.
Dragon Ball has always been a heavily influential media presence in my life and has informed a lot of my writing and artistic sensibilities. I made this redraw of a frame from Episode 2 of Dragon Ball Z on 3/8/2024 on the occasion of the passing of Akira Toriyama.
Here's another original character of mine named Sofia. They're a basement dweller turned gun witch, and are pictured here with their Rhamphorhynchus familiar, T'ot.
I think this game has some fans out there, right? Here's my Warrior of Light from Final Fantasy XIV, Enkhtuya.
Oh, here's Hupi again. This time it looks like she's ready for some fun in the sun. I had a lot of fun rendering this and I think it ended up looking really cute! (Yes, that's Super Mario Sunshine in the background. Don't worry about it.)
